Design your own bipolar transistor amplifier quick and easy - with free TransistorAmp 2 software

TransistorAmp 2 Software

Your job

You want to design a bipolar transistor amplifier and you search for an easy way to do this. Maybe, you have already found some formulas in a book and you are confused and discouraged because of the complexity. Furthermore, you need transistor parameters, e.g. from a data sheet and you are discouraged because of the effort, which is necessary for the calculation.

The solution: TransistorAmp 2 software

For the design of transistor amplifiers there is a new software available: TransistorAmp 2. With TransistorAmp 2 software you are able to create your individual bipolar transistor amplifier with a few mouse clicks. TransistorAmp 2 is freeware for Microsoft Windows. TransistorAmp runs under Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 (requires .NET 4.5 or higher). You can download the freeware tool TransistorAmp 2 here from our website: Download TransistorAmp 2.

How to use TransistorAmp 2 software

The TransistorAmp 2 has a new created dialog-based user interface. You start every design by clicking a button according to your desired circuit. You can choose between common-base circuit, common-emitter circuit and common-collector circuit. After that, you get a dialog, where you have to put in all parameters of your amplifier.

For the selection of the transistor type you can click on the button "Select transistor type from list", and you will see a list of all supported transistor types. TransistorAmp 2 supports some thousand transistor types - even some Germanium transistors. Select your desired transistor type there and click on OK. The selected transistor type will then be displayed in the dialog.

When you have completed your input in the dialog, click on OK and see the result. You see a window with your input data, the circuit, the component values and the most important parameters of the operation point. If you want to change your design, you only need to click on "Create New" and then the button according to the circuit. The input data, which have given will be restored to the input dialog, and you can change one or more parameters.

In TransistorAmp 2 you can also perform a Spice simulation with the designed circuit. TransistorAmp 2 has a new designed Spice call-interface, which is easy to configure and easy to use. We recommend to use the LTspice simulation software, a powerful freeware which can be downloaded from the website of Analog Devices: LTspice.

When you are satisfied with the result, you can click a "Save Result" button to save all data which is displayed in the result window to a HTML file. You can open this file with a web browser, inspect it and print it.

We hope you will enjoy using TransistorAmp 2 and wish you success with your projects. If you have ideas how to improve the program, feel free to contact us.
